It's a beautiful wood and in one description it said it was acacia wood but it's a different grain than 3 other bowls I bought describing them also as acacia wood.This is very nice with a perfect finish inside and out, safe for a salad but I'm giving it for Christmas filled with cookies, candies and a box of tea bags and a gift card for them to make a salad.It makes a beautiful present for friends. I highly recommend it.

It's larger than I expected. I had thought about using this as a bowl for my own personal salads, but it's more suitable for preparing salad for your whole family. You could also use it for fruit.
